We increase the capacity of Natucer (Pamesa Grupo Empresarial) with AR PAL racking in Castellón (Video)

- 10,822 pallet positions in a 6,854 m² space for ceramic storage.
- Phased remodelling in 8 weeks and design at different heights to take advantage of a gable roof building.
In AR Racking we have completed the remodelling of the warehouse of NATUCER (Pamesa Grupo Empresarial) in Onda (Castellón) with a very specific goal: to increase storage capacity without losing operational continuity. In the ceramics sector, every metre counts and every movement must keep pace with production, so the project was focused on gaining usable space in an orderly and practical way.
The solution chosen was our AR PAL adjustable pallet racking system, a classic pallet storage system due to its balance between capacity and direct access. With this installation, the warehouse has 10,822 pallet positions, designed for loads of 1,500 kg per pallet, providing a solid base for more efficient stock management and seamless operations.
The system has been configured for 800 x 1,200 mm and 1,000 x 1,200 mm pallets, with a height of 1,050 mm. We have also designed the structure to store two pallets per level, incorporating three supports per pallet: a technical detail offered by AR Racking for storing unit loads with different depths. Necessary for proper support resulting in greater safety, more stability, better support and peace of mind in daily use.

The biggest challenge was the building itself: a remodelled old warehouse with a gable roof. To turn this constraint into an advantage, we designed linear units at different heights (5,500 mm, 7,000 mm and 8,000 mm), making the most of the available volume and maximising the capacity without congesting the space. The result is a warehouse that not only increases its capacity, but also does so in a manner consistent with the actual geometry of the warehouse.
The project was completed in 8 weeks, validating the work in phases so that Natucer could continue to use the warehouse during assembly, freeing up space in other areas as the installation progressed. We also planned the delivery of material in phases meeting the agreed deadlines (3 weeks) and adapting to the customer’s operational needs during the project.
Juan Vives, Natucer (Pamesa Grupo Empresarial): “The best part was being able to progress in phases; the flexibility offered by AR Racking has allowed us to increase capacity while our operations continued as normal. With this project we have increased the management capacity and agility in our logistics processes. We now work in a more orderly way and with real space to continue growing.”
Víctor López, project manager at AR Racking: “We design AR PAL so that it works in the real world: an existing warehouse, height constraints and uninterrupted operations. This is the type of project where planning, organisation and flexibility make the difference.”
