AR Racking, has been shortlisted for the Sustainability Excellence Award at The Archies, one of the most prestigious accolades in the UK’s material handling and intralogistics sector. Organised by the UK Material Handling Association (UKMHA), the ceremony will take place on 10 September at The Vox Conference Venue, Birmingham, gathering hundreds of industry leaders to celebrate excellence across 15 key categories.

With over three decades of history, The Archies have become the must-attend gala for recognising the most innovative solutions, projects and organisations in the industry. Held during IMHX, the UK’s leading logistics trade fair, the event creates a unique platform to spotlight progress and transformative commitment in the sector.

AR Racking’s nomination reflects its solid sustainability strategy, driven by the Living Sustainability programme. This initiative goes beyond environmental responsibility, embracing also the social and economic governance (ESG) dimensions. It represents a roadmap for responsible business that promotes people development, corporate ethics, and transparency.

Key actions underpinning this nomination include the use of 100% renewable electricity across all facilities, the self-generation of 25.8% photovoltaic energy, 98% industrial waste recovery, and certifications such as ISO 14001, ISO 50001, and the EcoVadis Gold Medal. The company is also investing in R&D projects aimed at improving energy efficiency and reducing indirect emissions, alongside initiatives to reduce water consumption and promote sustainable mobility.

In addition, AR Racking has strengthened its social responsibility policies, introducing workplace wellbeing, equality and safety measures, as well as community-focused initiatives aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part of its global commitment, AR Racking is an active member of the UN Global Compact, a step that reinforces its path towards a more ethical, inclusive and resilient industry.

“This nomination makes us extremely proud and strengthens our commitment to deliver sustainable value to our customers, our people and our environment,” says Ander Iturralde, Country Manager UK & Ireland at AR Racking. “In the UK and Ireland, we remain firmly committed to storage solutions that combine innovation, quality and responsibility.”
