BSE, at a glance:

BSE UK was formed in 1971 in central Bristol and soon became the trusted name in racking and shelving within the South West and South Wales. Since then BSE UK, with its HQ in Thornbury (North of Bristol), has grown to become a nationwide business and has clients located all across the UK. A family owned business with over 50 years of knowledge and experience, the company is experiencing continued growth into 2022 and beyond.

What is BSE’s range of products and services?

BSE UK’s product range extends from market leading pallet racking and shelving systems, to mezzanine floors and steel partitioning. Other services include rack inspections from our in house SEMA Approved Racking Inspectors, as well rack repairs and maintenance using our SEIRS installation teams.

In terms of storage and industrial racking, what distinguishes BSE from its competitors?

Using our experience and knowledge we ask you the right questions to ensure that what you THINK you need – is actually what you DO need...this saves you time, energy and money. Everything we do is designed to make your life easier – install for you what you really need – and give you the best sales and after sales experience you have ever had.

On top of that, BSE UK is a SEMA Approved Distributor which means clients choose us with complete peace of mind in the fact that we are audited by the Storage Equipment Manufacturers Association (SEMA). This demonstrates our commitment to safety, and also ensures we use only the best racking and shelving products available on the market. All of this means we are also able to offer a 20 year guarantee on our fully installed racking systems.

How was the partnership with AR Racking established?

We are always looking to strengthen our business and to provide our customers with the best products available on the market. I think there was a mutual desire from both parties as AR Racking looked to increase the number of distributors in the UK, at a time when BSE were looking to expand our offering to enable us to continue to grow our business across the UK. 4 years on and our relationship has proved a great success.

What does it mean for BSE to be a strategic distributor of AR Racking?

It enables our business to offer the best products at the best prices with the best lead times. This enables us to fulfil our ambition to offer market leading service levels to our clients. We are able to provide our clients with a wide range of products from our warehouse full of stock here in the UK, whilst receiving factory support on bespoke or large projects that are delivered directly from AR Racking.

What are the future challenges for BSE as a company?

As we look to continue our growth into 2022, our challenge will always be; to be better in the future than we are today. We want to continue to impress our customers across the UK with our market leading products and service, within an industry that continues to grow and is also extremely competitive. #GrowingTogether with AR Racking, as a distributor of their racking products, is one of many factors that will enable us to meet the challenges ahead.

What are the current challenges in the industrial storage and logistics sector in UK?

The past couple of years have presented many challenges in the form of raw material costs increasing dramatically as a result of Covid 19, Brexit and now with the War in Ukraine. We are lucky that our suppliers and customers are both supportive and understanding as we battle through these unusual market conditions together. In 2021 we managed to successfully navigate our way through everything the market hurled at us and recorded our most successful year to date.

What kind of storage need are the companies in UK currently demanding?

In a world where material costs and energy costs are only going one way, it is more important than ever to maximise storage capacity and ensure that warehouse operations are running at optimum efficiency. This is reflected in the types of enquiries we are currently receiving as businesses look to make the most of the existing space they have or expand into new buildings and factories in order to drive efficiency.

Which sectors are demanding new warehousing solutions or the renewal of their intralogistics in UK?

We have seen an increase in demand from our Ecommerce clients as well as transport and haulage companies.
