Igamo, a company specializing in the design and manufacture of custom packaging solutions based in Legutiano (Spain), called on AR Racking, a leading company in the storage systems market, to solve its logistical problems. The company manufactures personalized cardboard packaging for all types of industry and has a warehouse for raw materials and another one for finished products.
The main problem for Igamo was the impossibility of planning storage around the minimum service unit, the pallet, because the company does not know the dimensions of the product beforehand. Igamo designs and manufactures cardboard packaging solutions for all types of sectors (food, pharmaceutical, automotive, etc.) and, therefore, each product is different in size, composition and weight. Igamo used to manage its warehouse with a clearly chaotic ground storage system. However, the strong increase in sales and the need for rigorous stock control led Igamo to rely on AR Racking for a redesign of its facilities with new racking solutions.
AR Racking stands out for its ability to offer customers solutions specifically adapted to their needs and proposed a combination of two storage systems for Igamo’s warehouses. For the raw material and considering that the company works with pallets of very different sizes, AR has installed a conventional Adjustable pallet racking system (AR PAL), with wire trays. It is an efficient structure, resistant and easy to assemble, with a simple regulation of the load levels that adapts to any type of goods, both in weight and in volume.
For the storage of finished products, a high-density AR Drive In system was installed. It is a storage solution that makes the most of the available warehouse space and height by reducing the forklift operating aisles. In these compact racking systems, service aisles are eliminated from the conventional storage system. This Drive-in installation has only one access aisle where the last load in is the first one out (LIFO).
